Handwoven Wool Shawls

Beautiful handwoven shawls made by a women's  co-operative in the Kullu valley, in the Western Indian Himalayas. The co-operative is formed by a group of tribal women with the aim of creating employment in the area, whilst maintaining and promoting the traditional weaving techniques that have remained unchanged for generations.

The wool is sourced from local mountain sheep and yaks and is woven on traditional framed looms. The wool is super soft, not scratchy at all. Please note these gorgeous shawls and scarves are all individually woven and therefore there will be minor variations between each one, which makes them unique!
